Stewart Milne, chairman & chief executive of the Stewart Milne Group, was today presented with a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for services to the Housebuilding Industry in Scotland by The Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace. Milne, who started his business over thirty years ago, has built his business into one of the UK’s largest independent developer and construction companies with offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Oxford. Premium developer, Stewart Milne Timber Systems, has scooped the award for Sustainability Innovation at the 2010 Inside Housing Sustainable Housing Awards for its new Sigma II build system.
Stewart Milne Construction has secured two contracts totalling £7 million from Moray Council and the University of Abertay, Dundee. The company will build a new campus HQ for Moray Council to replace a network of satellite offices in the Elgin area.
